S. Whitfield “Whitt” Lee – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

 

Whitt brings a lifetime of experience to his role as Transfac's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, including owning companies in the oil. transportation and construction industries.   More specifically, he has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WLP Corporation, an investment holding company; Chairman of Evans Dedicated Systems and Evans Tank Lines; Chairman and President of Calvert Company, an oil and gas exploration and production company.  From 1975 until 1983, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of a privately owned trucking company, which had approximately 2,500 employees.  Whitt has been an investor in and consultant for troubled companies with turn‐around potential since 1973.  A native of Oklahoma and a true frontiersman at heart, Whitt is also the former Chairman of the American Cowboy Heritage Museum, located in Oklahoma City.

 

John Thompson – Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

 

Since April 2008, John has served as Transfac’s Chief Financial Officer and Secretary.  From October 1996 through April 2008, he was Vice President and Controller for Summit Financial Resources, commercial finance and factoring company.  Prior to 1996, he worked as senior accounting manager for JB's Family Restaurants and was responsible for day‐to‐day A/R, banking relations for the Company. John is a graduate of the University of Phoenix where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting as well as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

 

Don Carvelas – Vice President, Underwriting and Credit

 

Don joined Transfac in 2010 as its senior underwriting officer.  With over 25 years of experience in the commercial finance arena, Don has held senior credit and underwriting manager positions for Rexford Funding, LLC, Summit Financial Resources, L.P. and Coast Business Credit.  He received his Bachelors of Science Degree from New York University.

 

Keith Merrell – Controller

 

Keith joined the Company in July 2012 and serves as Transfac’s Controller.  He has served as the CFO for several companies, both public and private, and has years of experience with SEC filings. Keith also has merger and acquisition experience gained through involvement in a number of projects.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Arizona State University.

 

Mari Dezham – Portfolio Manager

 

Mari joined Transfac in 2007 as an Account Executive/Relationship Manager. In view of her proven experience in factoring, asset-based lending, risk management and collections, she was promoted to the Company’s Portfolio Manager in 2010.  Prior to joining Transfac, Mari served as a senior account executive in various credit, collection and operations positions for Summit Financial Resources.  She attended the University of Utah.

 

Michael Miller - Director of New Markets

 

Michael returned to Transfac as Director of New Markets in late 2013 to design and implement key market expansion initiatives.  He originally served as Credit and Portfolio Manager of the Company from 2007 through 2012, but departed to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Midland American Capital, where he oversaw policy development, underwriting and portfolio management for the commercial lender prior to rejoining the Transfac leadership team.  During his accomplished 30 year career in the field of specialty finance, he held senior credit positions at Summit Financial Resources, HSBC Business Credit, Bank of New York and Bankers Trust.   Michael is a graduate of UCLA.
